You’ve heard the saying diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but I think these diamonds could be everyone’s best friend.

After going to the Centurion Jewelry Show, I saw some amazing jewelers which I couldn’t resist catching up with in New York. Seeing the pieces, and the incredible designs, and how they came to be can’t be kept a secret.

These are the two New York City jewelry designers you need to know right now.

Gumuchian Jewelry

My first stop was at Gumuchian Jewelry, a family, female-owned jewelry business dating back more than 100 years.

From simple yet elegant styles, to extravagant one-of-a-kind pieces, Gumuchian really has something for everyone.

Right now, they have 12 different collections, not including their bridal-wear range.

One of their very popular collections, called “the B collection” is all about saving the bees, with a portion of proceeds from the collection benefitting the University of Minnesota Bee Squad non-profit research program, which helps in the conservation of bees.

Unsurprisingly, this collection is influenced by the honeycomb. It incorporates all different types of jewels such as citrine and diamonds.

Another collection I found extremely interesting was “The Carousel” collection.

Another exceptional jeweler that caught my eye was Christopher Designs, another one of the top New York City jewelry designers.

While Christopher Designs mainly specializes in diamonds, the way they are cut is particularly innovative, resulting in diamonds that look far more expensive than they actually are.

His patented Crisscut diamonds are made to reflect the facets of the diamond, making it look bigger and glisten more in the light. It also makes them look like they are cut cleaner, and give off a brighter appearance.

If you’re looking for extra sparkle, the Crisscut round design is the best for that. This is definitely a popular one for engagement rings as it is particularly eye-catching.
